STANDING IN My TRUTH. A Woman's Plea to STOP RACISM & HATE!

Julie is the daughter of an United Methodist minister and a school teacher. Born in Lansing, her family lived in various cities within Michigan and Ohio due to her father's ministry.After she graduated from high school, she worked several different jobs. At a business opportunity, she met a Black man from Cleveland. After dating for a while, they got married and lived in Cleveland raising two interracial children. They bought a home together in 1987.The unforeseen and unfortunate aspect of it, was that their home was located in a highly racist area. What impact does racial hate have and how did Julie get involved in the community to help enact changes? Does racism & hate still exist? After the murder of George Floyd, people were asking to hear even more from white people about this issue. ******* Human Activist and Author of Standing in My Truth. She was awarded the 1993 Peacekeeper's Award by the City of Cleveland, Community Relations Board, and Mayor Michael White for her work in support of the victims of racism & hatred and helping to enact positive change within her community.
