Julie is the daughter of an United Methodist minister and a school teacher. Born in Lansing, her family lived in various cities within Michigan and Ohio due to her father's ministry.After she graduated from high school, she worked several different jobs. At a business opportunity, she met a Black man from Cleveland. After dating for a while, they got married and lived in Cleveland raising two interracial children. They bought a home together in 1987.The unforeseen and unfortunate aspect of it, was that their home was located in a highly racist area. What impact does racial hate have and how did Julie get involved in the community to help enact changes? Does racism & hate still exist?
